Okay Peeps, I’ve already sliced and diced this past Monday’s Raw and Sunday’s debacle that was Wrestlemania. How funny is it that the older that Vince McMahon gets, the worse the quality of the WWE gets. It’s like he has become the Al Davis of pro wrestling and that he treats the WWE the same way that Al Davis treats the Oakland Raiders. By that I mean that as old as both Davis and Vince are, neither one knows what the hell they are doing with what they’ve got.
According to reports from Wrestlezone, the WWE’s Creative Team is getting burnt out by their boss due to his quick last minute changes becoming more and erratic. Everybody was under the impression that The Rock and John Cena would fight at Summerslam, and now Vince has changed that to Wrestlemania next year. It’s also being said that Vince now wants Taker and Triple H to fight at Summerslam. What would be the point of that? Even if Triple H beats Taker at Summerslam, so what? He still couldn’t do at the place where it counted the most which is Wrestlemania. If you need further proof, look at the order of the matches at Wrestlemania, the decision to drop Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus from the card, having the match with Snookie go on just before the main event. It’d be easy to assume that the decision to not close the Lawler vs Cole storyline could also be tied with Vinny Mac’s erratic behavior.
Reports are also saying that along with the last minute changes made to both Wrestlemania and Monday Night Raw, Vince called a meeting right after Wrestlemania, a move that the guys from the Creative Team feels is unlike him. It’s gotten to the point where the phrase “out of his mind” has been used. Well, like the fans really needed these guys to point that out.
Like was said in the last blog about Wrestlemania, the event serves as a culmination of all the build up and the hype for rivalries and storylines that were leading up to the event, and it’s like instead of giving the fans the big pay-off and using the next night to start a new, Vinny Mac turned Wrestlemania into, well, more build-up for next year’s Wrestlemania. He turned the WWE’s signature PPV into a filler PPV like you’d have between Summerslam and Survivor Series or a better example would be between the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. His spur of the moment changes made all the build-up for this past Wrestlemania all for nothing, nothing except a good way to blow $55-$65 for those that actually ordered it.
Here’s a few names to throw at you guys. I already threw in a football reference by using Al Davis at the start, so I’ll stick to the wrestling analogies here: Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon and Ric Flair. What do these guys have in common? They will keep a death grip on pro wrestling for as long as they can. Ric Flair had his retirement match years ago and won’t go away. Hogan and Vince have the most in common because the phrase “Passing the Torch” falls on deaf ears with these guys, especially Vince which could explain why Shane left the company. Could Shane McMahon have done a better job with the WWE the last couple years? Well he couldn’t possibly do worse than his old man right now. Word has been going around for a while that Triple H has his eye on working behind the scenes when he hangs it up and probably him working with Stephanie. I repeat, it can’t possibly be worse than things are right now.
At this rate, Vince McMahon has clearly demonstrated that he doesn’t listen to the fans and feels that he’s done this long enough and he created the Attitude Era and bought out WCW, so he can do what he damn well pleases. Holding on to one good idea and thinking it gives you a permanent pass for life, does the name Eric Bischoff ring any bells Vinny Mac? The way things are going right now with the WWE, it’s not so much a matter of who will take over when Vince is gone, it’s a matter of is there gonna be anything salvageable left of the WWE when he does. They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results every single time. Well, Vince McMahon and the WWE have been doing the same damn thing for the last couple years and expecting big things. I’m not a doctor, I just play on the internet, but I’d classify VKM as completely insane. It would certainly explain why things haven’t gotten better and who knows if they ever will.
